Indian Army and Air Force MoU with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya for Logistics Skills Enhancement

New Delhi, India, September 9, 2024 — To enhance the skills and capabilities of their personnel, the Indian Army and Indian Air Force entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara. The MoU was signed in the presence of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on September 9, 2024. This MoU aims to facilitate the acquisition of advanced expertise in logistics by the two Services. Furthermore, it will foster the development of in-house proficiency in various logistics operations and actively contribute to national development plans, including the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan 2021 and the National Logistics Policy 2022.

The Raksha Mantri expressed utmost confidence in the MoU’s provision of experiential learning through real-world case studies. He believes that Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, leveraging the leadership, management, and operational experience of the Armed Forces personnel, will successfully shape a new generation of logistics experts and managers.

Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed his unwavering confidence in Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya’s role as a vital partner. He believes the institution will be crucial in empowering the Armed Forces with cutting-edge logistics education, research, and innovation.

  • Senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Railways attended the event, including the Chief of Defence Staff, the Air Force Chief, the Army Chief, the Defence Secretary, the Chairman of the Railway Board, and the Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.
