Chandigarh Sky Dazzles: Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Sets Sukhna Lake Ablaze with Pride

Chandigarh, India, March 27–28, 2026 — The skies above Sukhna Lake transformed into a theatre of colour, courage, and choreography as the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team delivered a breathtaking aerial spectacle, leaving thousands of spectators awestruck.

Over two exhilarating days, the iconic display by the Indian Air Force turned Chandigarh’s skyline into a canvas of patriotism. With roaring engines slicing through the air and tricolour smoke trails painting the heavens, the event was as much an emotional experience as it was a technical marvel.

Precision Meets Poetry in the Sky

The performance featured a series of complex and visually stunning manoeuvres—from the dynamic Tejas and Yuva formations to crowd-favourite stunts like barrel rolls, high-speed crossovers, loops, and the iconic heart and DNA patterns. Each move demonstrated razor-sharp precision, flawless coordination, and years of rigorous training.

The formation leader’s radio message—wishing the Tricity audience “blue skies and happy landings”—added a personal, memorable touch that resonated deeply with the crowd gathered along the lakefront.

A Gathering of Pride and Inspiration

The March 27 showcase was graced by H. Rajesh Prasad, who praised the Air Force’s discipline and excellence while emphasizing the importance of such events in inspiring young minds and nurturing patriotism.

The celebrations soared even higher on March 28, with the presence of Gulab Chand Kataria, adding ceremonial grandeur to an already electrifying atmosphere.

A City United Under One Sky

From early morning, Chandigarh buzzed with anticipation as residents, tourists, and aviation enthusiasts flocked to witness the spectacle. The lakefront evolved into a vibrant confluence of excitement, applause, and national pride.

Behind the scenes, seamless coordination between the Chandigarh Administration, security agencies, and the Indian Air Force ensured the event unfolded flawlessly—reflecting the same discipline seen in the skies above.

More Than an Air Show

The Chandigarh Air Show 2026 was not just a display of aerial prowess—it was a powerful reminder of India’s spirit, unity, and admiration for its armed forces. As jets disappeared into the horizon, they left behind more than trails of colour—they left a lasting imprint of pride in every heart that looked up.

“As tricolour trails painted the Chandigarh sky, the Suryakiran display became more than a performance—it became a shared moment of national pride.”
