International Women’s Day: CITCO Honors Women in Chandigarh

CITCO Marks International Women’s Day with Lively Celebration at Hotel Mountview

Chandigarh | March 10, 2026

The Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday with a vibrant event at Hotel Mountview, honouring women across its workforce with music, dance, and spirited camaraderie.

Celebration at Hotel Mountview

The day began with a special luncheon for women employees, followed by a lively cultural programme featuring a DJ session, dance performances, and interactive games. A cake-cutting ceremony added a personal touch to the occasion, symbolising appreciation for the women who contribute to CITCO’s operations across its hotels, hospitality units, and fuel stations.

The Ballroom of Hotel Mountview came alive with colour and conversation as employees mingled across departments, sharing stories and experiences. Many participants described the event as an opportunity to unwind and connect beyond the workplace.

Focus on Inclusion and Recognition

CITCO officials said the corporation has been promoting initiatives that encourage inclusivity and empower women employees in various roles. Annual celebrations like these, they noted, go beyond festivity—offering a moment to reflect on achievements and build solidarity within the organisation.

“This celebration is about recognising our women workforce and strengthening the sense of unity among them,” a senior CITCO representative said.

Gesture for Women Guests

Extending the spirit of the day beyond its employees, CITCO also announced special offers for women patrons—discounts on room bookings and dining across its hotels. The initiative aimed to allow guests to share in the celebration and experience the corporation’s hospitality on International Women’s Day.

A City-Wide Mark of Appreciation

With Chandigarh’s hospitality sector witnessing renewed activity, CITCO’s celebration stood out as both a morale-booster and a reminder of the central role women play across its services. The event closed on a note of gratitude and optimism, echoing the global theme of empowerment and equality.
