Vice-President Radhakrishnan Says AI Will ‘Transform India’s Future’ Across Health, Education, and Governance

New Delhi, February 20, 2026 — Artificial intelligence will redefine how India learns, heals, and governs itself, Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan said on Friday, expressing confidence that the technology will open up “entirely new opportunities and jobs” while making everyday life more efficient and inclusive.
The Vice-President met a group of CEOs and delegates attending the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Uprashtrapati Bhavan, where discussions centred on how AI is reshaping workplaces and unlocking new possibilities for innovation.
Delegates shared their perspectives on India’s pivotal role in the global AI movement, praising the India AI Mission for nurturing a strong innovation ecosystem. They described the summit as “spectacular in scale and impact,” showcasing young talent and bold ideas from across the country.
Among the initiatives discussed were practical, people-focused applications of AI—most notably the use of AI-powered simultaneous language translation in parliamentary proceedings, a move that could enhance accessibility and inclusiveness in governance.
Radhakrishnan emphasized that AI is no longer a niche technology but a catalyst for broad-based change. “AI enhances accuracy, streamlines workflows, and delivers meaningful benefits to society,” he said, calling it a cornerstone of India’s digital transformation.
He also underscored that hosting the summit, envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, positions India as a key voice in the global AI landscape. “India’s strength lies in its people,” he said. “When given the right platforms and opportunities, our potential is limitless. The coming years hold the promise of being truly defining for our nation.”
With the summit spotlighting homegrown innovation and cross-sector collaboration, India’s AI community is looking ahead to a future where technology not only drives growth but also ensures equity and empowerment across all layers of society.
