Steeped in military tradition and musical grandeur, the evening unfolded as a stirring tribute to India’s cultural richness and the discipline of its armed forces.

A Distinguished Gathering at the Ceremonial Finale

The ceremony was witnessed by a distinguished audience that included Droupadi Murmu, C P Radhakrishnan, Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, senior Union Ministers, top government officials, and members of the public who gathered to witness the ceremonial spectacle.

Music That Marched With Memory and Meaning

The evening opened with the rousing ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’ by the Massed Bands, setting a tone of pride and purpose. The Pipes & Drums Band followed with melodious compositions such as Atulya Bharat, Veer Sainik, Mili Jhuli, Nritya Sarita, Marooni, and Jhelum, blending martial rhythm with classical grace.

Bands from the Central Armed Police Forces brought energetic flair with Vijay Bharat, Hathrohi, Jai Ho, and Veer Seepahi, while the Indian Air Force Band impressed with compositions including Brave Warrior, Twilight, Alert, and Flying Star.

The Indian Navy Band added a maritime cadence through tunes like Namaste, Sagar Pawan, Matribhumi, Tejasvi, and Jai Bharati. The sequence culminated with the Indian Army Band performing evocative pieces such as Vijayee Bharat, Aarambh Hai, Prachand Hai, Aye Watan, Aye Watan, Anand Math, Sugamya Bharat, and Sitare Hind.

A Patriotic Crescendo

In a powerful finale, the Massed Bands played Bharat Ke Shaan, Vande Mataram, and Drummers Call. The ceremony concluded on a deeply emotional note with the buglers rendering the timeless ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha’, leaving the audience immersed in patriotic fervour.

The Conductors Behind the Harmony

The ceremony was led by Principal Conductor Leimapokpam Rupachandra Singh. The participating bands were conducted by Subedar Major Prakash Joshi, M Antony, Warrant Officer Ashok Kumar, and Inspector Chetram.
The Pipes & Drums Band performed under Subedar S P Chourasia, while the Buglers were led by Subedar Manoj Kumar.

Celebrating India’s Musical Heritage

Adding a distinctive cultural touch, the seating enclosures at Vijay Chowk were named after traditional Indian musical instruments, including Bansuri, Damaru, Ektara, Esraj, Mridangam, Nagada, Pakhawaj, Santoor, Sarangi, Sarinda, Sarod, Shehnai, Sitar, Surbahar, Tabla, and Veena—a symbolic nod to India’s vast and living musical legacy.
