The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi met with Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan.

New Delhi, India, October 8, 2025 — The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh, met with the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, who serves as the ex officio Chancellor of the University of Delhi.

The Vice Chancellor presented an overview of the University’s current state while emphasizing its rich historical background that spans over a century. He also discussed the University’s national and international standing across multiple parameters, including student enrollment—particularly the encouraging trend of increasing female enrollment—quality of teaching and learning, commitment to cutting-edge research, and the availability of state-of-the-art physical and digital infrastructure. Additionally, he highlighted advancements in information and communication technology (ICT), as well as improvements in library and hostel facilities, and the establishment of new campuses and colleges, among other significant developments.

During the deliberations, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Honorable Vice-President of India and Chancellor of the University, expressed his satisfaction with the University’s operations and praised its remarkable historical legacy.

The meeting yielded several important outcomes that will significantly impact the future growth of the University under the guidance of Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Vice President of India and Chancellor of the University of Delhi.

The Vice Chancellor of Panjab University visited the Vice President.

New Delhi, October 10, 2025 — The Vice President of India, who also serves as the ex officio Chancellor of various universities, is meeting with the respective vice chancellors to understand their operations better.

One such meeting took place in New Delhi, featuring Dr. Renu Vig, the Vice Chancellor of Panjab University, and C.P. Radhakrishnan, the Vice President of India and ex officio Chancellor of Panjab University. The meeting also included other university officials.

During the meeting, Prof. Vig provided an overview of some of the university’s recent achievements and initiatives, which included:

  • NAAC accreditation
  • Category autonomy status
  • Research and innovation infrastructure

In turn, the Vice President inquired about the following areas:

  • University Governance and Development: Reviewing the university’s overall functioning, strategic plans, and future initiatives.
  • National Education Policy (NEP) Implementation: Discussing the progress and challenges in adopting NEP 2020.
  • Financial Matters: Addressing the university’s budget, funding, and resource allocation, particularly as a central institution.
  • Academic and Research Excellence: Strategies for improving national and international rankings, enhancing research output, and securing grants.
  • Infrastructure and Campus Development: Plans for new facilities, hostels, and modernization projects.
  • Convocations and Official Events: Preparations for major university ceremonies that require the Chancellor’s presence.

Additionally, he advised the institution to focus on:

  1. Promoting a drug-free campus environment.
  2. Strengthening student placements/employability.
  3. Increasing seats in high-demand/popular courses to improve access for students.
  4. Encouraging holistic development, academic excellence, social responsibility, and youth empowerment.

The Vice President is anticipated to thoroughly examine the various requirements and concerns that the institution has submitted for his attention. This review will enable him to assess the situation comprehensively and determine the necessary steps for further action.
