India has risen to 38th place among 139 economies in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025, a remarkable improvement from its 81st rank in 2015. This advancement highlights sustained progress in India’s innovation capacity, particularly among lower-middle-income economies, where India now holds the top position.
