Miss World 2025: Grand Final in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is hosting the 72nd Miss World, which will be broadcast to audiences worldwide.

The global spotlight is on Telangana as the 72nd Miss World Festival approaches its highly anticipated Grand Final on May 31 at 1:00 PM GMT (6:30 PM IST) at the HITEX Exhibition Centre.

Hyderabad, Telangana, India, May 31, 2025 — After a month filled with meaningful activities, rich cultural experiences, and inspiring challenges set against the vibrant backdrop of Telangana, 108 contestants from diverse corners of the globe will come together to compete for the prestigious Miss World crown. This grand event promises to be a dazzling celebration of beauty, purpose, and unity, showcasing not only the contestants’ charm but also their dedication to making a positive impact in the world.

The Grand Final will be co-hosted by Stephanie del Valle, Miss World 2016, and the esteemed Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar. The event will also include live performances by prominent Bollywood celebrities Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter.

Renowned humanitarian and actor Sonu Sood will receive the Miss World Humanitarian Award and will also serve as a judge for the event. Another judge, Sudha Reddy, is the Global Ambassador for Beauty With a Purpose 2025 and graciously hosted the Beauty With a Purpose Gala Dinner. Joining the judging panel is Dr. Caryna Turrell, Miss England 2014, who is a public health physician, philanthropist, investor, and Fellow at the University of Cambridge. The jury will be headed by Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman of Miss World, who will announce the winner of the 72nd Miss World.

Manushi Chhillar, who was crowned Miss World in 2017 and is now recognized as a Bollywood actress, will make a notable appearance.

The event will be streamed live on SonyLiv in India, broadcast on national television in select countries, and made available worldwide via the official website in high definition.

The Miss World Selection Format

The 108 contestants will be introduced to the world for the first time. From there, ten semifinalists from each of the four continental regions (Americas and Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and Asia and Oceania) will progress to the quarterfinals, totaling 40 delegates.

Sixteen contestants have advanced to the quarterfinals by completing fast-track challenges.

A panel of judges will select the semifinalists after conducting personal interviews, and they will be announced during the final show.

The selection process will commence with ten quarterfinalists from each continent. This group will be progressively narrowed down to a Top 5, followed by a Top 2, culminating in four continental winners. These finalists will respond to a final question before the election of the new Miss World.

The contestants will showcase their talents on the runway, presenting an array of national costumes, elegant evening gowns, and exquisite designs created by Archana Kochhar, the official fashion designer for the 72nd Miss World Festival.

The evening will culminate in the crowning of the new Miss World by the current titleholder, Krystyna Pyszková, who is recognized as the 71st Miss World, having been awarded the title in Mumbai last year.

Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri has been crowned the winner of the 72nd Miss World title. She received her crown from Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszkova, during the finale ceremony held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Telangana on May 31.

Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje was the first runner-up, while Maja Klajda from Poland secured the second runner-up position. Aurlie Joachim from Martinique also made it to the top four.
