Chandigarh, India, May 13, 2025 — MY Bharat, an initiative led by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, vigorously mobilizes youth nationwide to join as MY Bharat Civil Defence Volunteers. This comprehensive nationwide campaign aims to empower youth to step into significant roles contributing to the nation’s welfare, especially during critical emergencies and crises.

Volunteers will receive rigorous training to become essential to a well-prepared, responsive, and resilient force by participating in this program. These trained volunteers will complement civil administration efforts during various challenges, including natural disasters like floods and earthquakes, accidents, public health emergencies, and other unpredictable situations. Through this initiative, the Ministry aspires to create a network of dedicated young individuals ready to support their communities and safeguard the nation in times of need.

In light of current events and emerging security concerns, there is an urgent and increasing need to establish a strong community-based response mechanism. Civil Defence Volunteers play a crucial role in this effort by assisting local authorities with various services. These services include conducting rescue and evacuation operations, providing first aid and emergency care, managing traffic, controlling crowds, ensuring public safety, and supporting disaster response and rehabilitation initiatives. The significance of a prepared and trained civilian force is more critical than ever, and MY Bharat is dedicated to contributing to this national mission.
