Daily Press Briefing by the Office of the Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General:

“The Secretary-General addressed reporters just an hour ago, stating that tensions between India and Pakistan are at their highest in years. He strongly condemned the attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and extended his condolences to the families of the victims. He emphasized that those responsible for the attack must be brought to justice through transparent, credible, and lawful means. The Secretary-General also highlighted the importance of avoiding a military confrontation, which could easily spiral out of control. Now is the time for maximum restraint and for both sides to step back from the brink. He reiterated his offer of assistance to both governments in pursuing peace.”
