The Prime Minister of India hosted the Vice President of the United States.

New Delhi, India, April 22, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Vice President of the United States, the Honorable J.D. Vance, the Second Lady, Mrs. Usha Vance, their children, and senior members of the U.S. Administration.
The Prime Minister fondly remembered his visit to Washington D.C. in February, where he had productive discussions with President Trump. These talks established a roadmap for close cooperation between India and the United States, combining the strengths of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) initiative and the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Prime Minister Vance and the Vice President reviewed and positively assessed progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation.
They expressed their satisfaction with the significant progress made in the negotiations for a mutually beneficial Bilateral Trade Agreement between India and the U.S., emphasizing the importance of the welfare of the people in both countries. Additionally, they acknowledged ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation in energy, defense, strategic technologies, and others.
The two leaders discussed various regional and global issues of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward.
The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the Vice President, the Second Lady, and their children for a pleasant and productive stay in India.
