Chandigarh is preparing to serve as one of the centers for the National Testing Agency (NTA) in conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.

Deputy Commissioner Conducts Meeting to Finalize NEET-UG Preparations for May 4, 2025

Chandigarh, India, April 22, 2025 — A District-Level Coordination Committee meeting was held, chaired by Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner of UT Chandigarh. The meeting aimed to review and finalize preparations for the smooth and fair conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), scheduled for May 4, 2025.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and an official of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Senior officials from various departments involved in the examination process were also present.

During the meeting, participants thoroughly discussed different aspects of examination preparedness. The objective was to ensure effective coordination and strict compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The meeting concluded that all examination centers would have CCTV surveillance systems to ensure transparency and monitor real-time activities. Live feeds from all centers will be accessible from a central control room. The Chandigarh Police will implement comprehensive traffic management and law enforcement arrangements around the examination centers to prevent any inconvenience to candidates and to maintain order.

A centralized Control Room will be set up at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office to monitor activities in real-time at all 11 designated examination centers across the city. Emphasis has been placed on the strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), including frisking procedures, biometric attendance, and measures to prevent unfair practices. All officials have been instructed to ensure that these guidelines are followed diligently.

Approximately 4,500 candidates are projected to participate in the NEET (UG) 2025 examination in Chandigarh. The administration has reaffirmed its commitment to providing all examinees a secure, equitable, and stress-free environment. The Deputy Commissioner has called on all departments to work collaboratively and maintain vigilance during the examination period to promptly and effectively address potential issues. Furthermore, he has urged parents and guardians to collaborate with the authorities to facilitate the smooth execution of the examination process.
