In the 2025 TIME100 list, TIME Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs shares in his letter to readers, “TIME’s founders believed that focusing on individuals who are transforming the world is the best way to help our audience understand it. This principle is central to our work at TIME. What does the 2025 TIME100 reveal about the forces shaping our lives? It features six members of the Trump Administration and 16 corporate CEOs, a record number that signifies the rise of business leaders stepping into a leadership void. Additionally, nine leaders are advocating for justice, equality, and democracy at a time when the rights of many are in jeopardy. The members of this list represent 32 countries. Whatever change is on the horizon, we believe the 2025 TIME100 will be at the forefront of it.”
