  • Prime Minister Modi’s statement ahead of his visits to France and the USA.

New Delhi, India, February 10, 2025 — Prime Minister Modi’s statement before he visits France and the USA:

“I will visit France from February 10 to February 12 at President Macron’s invitation. While in Paris, I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit, which will bring together world leaders and global tech CEOs. During this gathering, we will exchange views on a collaborative approach to AI technology, focusing on innovation and the greater public good in an inclusive, secure, and trustworthy manner.

“The bilateral segment of my visit will offer an opportunity to assess the progress of the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for the strategic partnership between India and France in collaboration with President Macron. Our itinerary includes visiting the historic city of Marseille, where we will inaugurate the inaugural Indian Consulate in France. Furthermore, we will explore the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project. India participates in a consortium of partner nations, including France, to promote sustainable energy harnessing for global benefit. Additionally, I will pay homage to the Indian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during World Wars I and II at the Mazargues War Cemetery.

“I will be traveling from France to the United States for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump. I am looking forward to meeting my friend, President Trump. Although this will be our first meeting since his historic electoral victory and inauguration in January, I fondly remember working together during his first term to build a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the U.S.

“This visit presents an opportunity to build on the successes of our collaboration during his first term and to develop an agenda that will elevate and deepen our partnership. We will focus on key areas such as technology, trade, defense, energy, and supply chain resilience. Together, we aim to benefit the citizens of our two countries and contribute to a better future for the world.”
