- Chandigarh University Lucknow has received UGC approval to begin admissions for 43 AI-augmented programs for the 2025 session. The University will offer 30 undergraduate and 13 postgraduate courses starting in the 2025-26 academic session.

LUCKNOW, India, January 28, 2025—Following the approval of the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities (Fifth Amendment) Act, 2024, which facilitated the establishment of Chandigarh University Lucknow as a state private university, the institution has obtained recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC). This recognition enables Chandigarh University Lucknow to commence academic courses for the 2025-26 academic year.
- Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, the Managing Director of Chandigarh University, announced, “On January 24, 2025, Chandigarh University Lucknow received recognition from the UGC. The University has now been included in the list of state public universities under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.”
Chandigarh University Lucknow has received UGC recognition and will now offer 43 AI-augmented, futuristic undergraduate academic programs starting from the 2025-26 academic session. These offerings include 30 undergraduate (UG) and 13 postgraduate (PG) courses across six streams: Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Business Management, Health and Life Sciences, Humanities, and Legal Studies.
Chandigarh University Lucknow offers various programs across different fields. In Engineering, the University provides nine undergraduate and three postgraduate courses. For Business Management, there are four undergraduate and seven postgraduate courses available. In Computer Applications, the University offers three undergraduate and two postgraduate courses.
Additionally, Chandigarh University Lucknow has two undergraduate courses in Commerce, three undergraduate courses in Science, one in Pharmacy, three in Legal Studies, and three in Humanities, which include Journalism and Mass Communication,” said Sandhu.

Chandigarh University’s Managing Director, Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, announced that admissions for courses at Chandigarh University Lucknow will be conducted through the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET 2025).
He emphasized that CUCET is a national-level entrance test essential for admission to Chandigarh University Lucknow. Additionally, this entrance test offers deserving students the chance to receive up to 100 percent scholarships. For the academic session of 2025-26, Chandigarh University Lucknow will award a total of Rs. 40 crore in scholarships. Furthermore, he added that the University will provide Rs. 3 crore in ‘CV Raman Scholarships’ to support students pursuing careers in scientific research.
