Miss America 2025: Abbie Stockard Crowned in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla., January 7, 2025 — Abbie Stockard, a vibrant representative from Alabama, has earned the prestigious title of Miss America 2025.

Currently a dedicated nursing student and a former cheerleader at Auburn University, Stockard’s journey to this remarkable achievement began when she was crowned Miss Alabama. Her tireless preparation and commitment propelled her to the national stage, where she competed against 51 other talented delegates, each representing their respective states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

In the competition, Stockard stood out among the 11 semifinalists chosen to showcase their unique talents, display their physical fitness, and model stunning evening gowns. Additionally, she engaged the audience with thoughtful responses to challenging questions, demonstrating her poise and intelligence.

Her impressive performances earned her a spot in the final five, where she answered questions regarding Miss America’s role and responsibilities. Her eloquence and confidence captivated the judges and audience alike, ultimately leading to her crowning as the winner.

The Miss America Organization announced the return of the 2025 Miss America and Miss America’s Teen competitions to Orlando’s Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center, running from December 31, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

Each year, the Miss America program celebrates over 100 years of empowering women to lead by awarding more than $5 million in cash scholarships and millions more in in-kind scholarships through local, state, and national competitions.

Fifty-one delegates from across the United States compete for the prestigious title of Miss America. After personal interviews and preliminary competitions showcasing talent, fitness, and evening wear, an exceptional young woman is crowned during the final show.

The new Miss America will be awarded a $50,000 tuition scholarship and the opportunity to travel the world as a brand ambassador and advocate.

The judges, representing excellence in sports, media, entertainment, and public service, are tasked with selecting the next Miss America from 52 remarkable delegates.

This year’s celebrity judges included:

  • Carl Lewis, a nine-time Olympic gold medalist and global advocate for youth fitness.
  • Sharlene Wells, Miss America 1985, Emmy-nominated broadcaster, and public relations trailblazer.
  • Lt. General Stayce Harris, retired U.S. Air Force Inspector General and commercial pilot.
  • Gabi Butler, an acclaimed cheerleader and star of Netflix’s “Cheer.”
  • Heather Whitestone, Miss America 1995.

Terrence J. and Nikki Novak returned as the dynamic hosts for this year’s highly anticipated event. They skillfully guided the audience through an enchanting evening filled with inspiring performances and heartfelt recognition of talent, achievements, and the spirit of women’s empowerment.
