The Goodyear Blimp Celebrates 100 Years.

AKRON, Ohio, January 6, 2025 — The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has announced plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Goodyear Blimp in 2025. The celebration will include flights over additional cities, appearances at new events, opportunities for fans to take flights, limited-edition collector’s items, and several exciting surprises. Goodyear aims to bring this American icon closer to its fans while commemorating its past, present, and future.

The Goodyear Blimp has been an integral part of American culture for a century, playing a role in numerous memorable events and milestones. Beginning with the blimp Pilgrim in 1925, Goodyear Blimps have acted as a public relations tool to enhance the company’s brand recognition and bring joy to fans in communities nationwide.

Over the years, the blimp has appeared at major events, including the Olympics and the first Super Bowl. It has been featured in popular songs, movies, and television shows, generating millions for charities and communities. Additionally, it played a role in the U.S. military effort during World War II. Goodyear plans to fly to more destinations and events worldwide this year to further its legacy.

In addition, winners will receive a $3,000 voucher for travel and accommodations.

“The Goodyear Blimp symbolizes nostalgia and innovation for fans worldwide.
