New Delhi, December 28, 2024 — Chess champion Gukesh D met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. During their meeting, Mr. Modi praised Gukesh’s determination and dedication, stating his confidence is truly inspiring.
“I have been closely interacting with him for a few years now, and what impresses me most is his determination and dedication. His confidence is genuinely inspiring,” said Narendra Modi.
“Along with his confidence, Gukesh also embodies calmness and humility. After winning, he remained composed, taking in his victory while fully understanding the significance of his hard-earned achievement.”
“I am also delighted to have received from Gukesh the original chessboard from the game he won. This chessboard, autographed by both him and Ding Liren, will be a cherished memento,” Prime Minister Modi remarked.
