Starting from the awe-inspiring heights of Umling La in Ladakh, known for its breathtaking mountain views and challenging terrain, the team traveled on a scenic route that showcased India’s stunning geographical diversity. The adventure concluded in the lush, serene backwaters of Kuttanad, Kerala, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture. The record attempt was organized by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and was driven by a professional team from Evo India. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 set an impressive record by registering an altitude change of 5,802 meters. This remarkable journey began at Umling La in Leh Ladakh, India’s highest drivable point at 5,799 meters above sea level, and concluded in Kuttanad, Kerala, located three meters below sea level.
This extraordinary feat was achieved over 14 days, covering a distance of more than 4,900 kilometers. The team faced challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions, demonstrating the Hyundai IONIQ 5’s resilience, advanced technology, and superior performance.
Throughout the journey, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 reaffirmed its status as a leader in electric mobility, effectively navigating harsh environments ranging from freezing temperatures and steep mountain passes in the Himalayas to humid coastal regions in Kerala.
