15-Year-Old Shoolini Achieves Significant Milestone in Global University Rankings

Shoolini ranks among the top 500 Global Universities.

SOLAN, India, October 10, 2024 — Shoolini University has achieved a significant milestone by securing a position among the top 500 global universities, specifically ranking in the 401-500 range in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. This notable achievement marks the university’s second appearance in the Top 500 list within the last three years.

In India, Shoolini University has again secured the top position among private universities for the third consecutive year. This accomplishment underscores the university’s distinguished standing in innovation and research, as demonstrated by its outstanding rankings in the two prestigious global university rating systems—the QS World University Rankings and THE World University Rankings for 2025.

This year, 107 Indian universities were featured in the rankings, up from 91 last year. Shoolini University stood out by being ranked second among all Indian universities. It maintained its top position in terms of research quality and international outlook. IISc, Bangalore, which secured placement in the 251-300 band, is the only university with a higher ranking.

In response to this noteworthy accomplishment, Shoolini’s Founder and Chancellor, Prof PK Khosla, expressed, “These rankings indicate the exceptional standard of research conducted at our university. Attaining a position within the top 500 globally also designates us as a Category 1 university. Notably, our global ranking of 175 in research quality is a remarkable achievement and a source of motivation.

The latest rankings position Shoolini University among the top global universities in leading institutional rankings — Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025. This dual recognition is a significant achievement for the institution.

  • At a mere 15 years of age, Shoolini has already secured a position among the top 500 universities globally. This remarkable achievement places Shoolini ahead of several well-established institutions, including its neighbor, Panjab University Chandigarh, which claims to be 142 years old and asserts it was born in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1882.
