New Delhi / Chandigarh, India, October 03, 2024: The University Grants Commission (UGC) in India has published the “Updated List” of “Defaulting Universities” that have failed to appoint Ombudsperson(s) as mandated by the University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023.
According to the UGC records, the Union Territory (UT) of Chandigarh has three universities: Panjab University in Sector 14, Punjab Engineering College in Sector 12, and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Sector 26.
The previous Defaulting Universities List featured two universities from UT Chandigarh, Punjab Engineering College and NITTTR. However, the Updated List of Defaulting Universities does not include them, indicating that all three universities in UT Chandigarh have complied with the relevant UGC regulations and have duly appointed Ombudsperson(s) as required.
