Rahul Gandhi to Speak at National Press Club Headliners Newsmaker Event in Washington, D.C.

Washington, DC, August 28, 2024 — Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi will speak at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, September 10, at 2 p.m., for the Headliners Newsmaker event. He will focus on Indian democracy, freedom of speech, and sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

This Headliners event is open to Credentialed Media and Club Members only. Registration is essential.

In June, Rahul Gandhi, a member of the Indian National Congress Party, was elected to the Indian parliament from the Rae Bareli district in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He is the son of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the grandson of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and the great-grandson of India’s founding prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Rahul Gandhi is known for being a vocal critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Mr. Gandhi was also the guest speaker at an NPC Newsmaker event in June 2023.
