Eight Chandigarh University students to represent India in the Paris Olympics 2024.
CHANDIGARH, India, July 15, 2024 — Chandigarh University values sports as much as academics. The university plays a crucial role in developing students’ athletic abilities and helping them succeed in national and international sports competitions. Culturing a sports-centric environment at Chandigarh University has led to notable achievements by its students in various athletic competitions.
Eight students from Chandigarh University have achieved a remarkable feat by qualifying for the Paris Olympics in 2024. The students are Bhajan Kaur (Archery), Arjun Babuta (Shooting), Sanjay (Hockey), Reetika Hooda (Wrestling), Akashdeep Singh (Race Walking), Palak Kohli (Para-Badminton), Yash (Kayaking), and Aruna Tanwar (Taekwondo). The Olympics will be held in France from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Bhajan Kaur, an impressive archer, won a gold medal in the archery event at the World Cup Qualifiers in Antalya, Turkey. This international victory not only brought glory to Chandigarh University but also secured her spot in the Indian squad for the Olympic Games, a recognition of her talent on a global stage.
