C.B.I. Investigation Launched: UGC-NET June 2024 Examination Irregularities

New Delhi, June 20, 2024 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in O.M.R. (pen and paper) mode on June 18th, 2024, in two shifts across different cities in India.

However, on June 19th, 2024, the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.) received specific inputs about potential irregularities in the Examination. These inputs suggest that the integrity of the Examination may have been compromised.

To uphold the integrity of the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination and conduct a fresh examination. Additionally, the Ministry has handed over the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) for a thorough investigation. This step aims to ensure the highest level of transparency and restore confidence in the examination system.

The Government has reiterated that any individual or organization involved will face the strictest action.
